In this two session workshop, learn from distinguished multimedia artist and composer, Indy Shome about how to score for film or moving images. This workshop is for emerging filmmakers of all backgrounds who are looking to develop strategies for sound design and musical scoring. Participants are encouraged to bring their own projects or ideas to reference or workshop. Shome will discuss conceptual approaches to sound and music, facilitate conversations, and offer hands-on instruction with music creation software. Indy Shome is an interdisciplinary humanist who works with music, media, and education. His work ranges from producing and performing music around the world, creating documentaries, designing media and strategic communications for urban regeneration, and working directly with young people, including as a Media Instructor at WHYY. His musical score for the feature film Higher Methods was awarded Best Score at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival in 2022.
