Tech Guide for Crowdcast Screening Attendees
1. Registration
The screening event will be listed on the Scribe website, www.scribe.org. Use the link there to sign up via Eventbrite, and check your email. You will receive an email with the link to the screening page on Crowdcast, a live screening platform. On the Crowdcast page click ‘save my spot!’ and enter your email address. The final step is to enter the screening via an email link sent by Crowdcast.
To skip this last step, you can create a Crowdcast account in advance at www.crowdcast.io. This will allow you to enter the screening page directly.
2. Interaction
Use the chat box during the screening to make comments and ask questions that will be collected for the post screening Q&A with the filmmakers. You can also use the ‘ask a question’ button function.
There may be a call to action button in the screening which will direct you to learn more or donate to an organization involved with the film.
If you see the screening freeze with a spinning wheel icon, please refresh your page and it should start back up again. You can also click the settings gear icon in the bottom right of the video window to select a lower resolution if you are experiencing a slowed internet connection.
Once the video portion of the screening is over (session 1), after a brief pause the live Q&A with the filmmakers will automatically begin (session 2).
