Securing the rights to use pre-existing music for a narrative or documentary film can be a daunting task for the uninitiated. Standard practices for securing rights to use music vary from project to project, and finding out who has ownership rights can be difficult. Jeanne Fox is an experienced professional within the film industry who has extensive experience with acquiring and clearing music for media projects, she will be presenting advice for how to get music cleared for independent media projects.
