Klee Benally
Klee Benally worked as a facilitator on Legend of the Weresheep (Outta Your Backpack Media, 2007) in Flagstaff, Arizona. His is from the Bitter Water and Wandering People Clans. Klee is a writer, activist, artist, silversmith, filmmaker, and a leading member of Blackfire, a Navajo punk bank formed in 1989 that tours nationally and internationally. He organized the Native American Film and Video festival in the mid-2000s and is an active member of Indigenous Action Media. He has co-founded grassroots projects such as the Taala Hoghan Infoshop, Indigenous Action Media, Outta Your Backpack Media Project, Flagstaff Activist Network, and the Save the Peaks Coalition. Klee performs traditional Navajo dances and is a champion fire dancer. In 2010, he was awarded the Livable Community Award by a Flagstaff community group for his work for social and environmental justice.
